DP WORLD INVESTS £12M IN NEW RAIL INFRASTRUCTURE 
 
DP World is investing £12m in two new Rail Mounted Gantry (RMG) cranes at London Gateway to meet fast growing demand for rail connections from customers at the smart logistics hub, which will increase its capacity by a third when a new fourth berth opens next year.

FREIGHTLINER AND ONE LAUNCH RAIL SERVICE USING GD+ FUEL 
 
On January 17th, 2023, a new Freightliner service made its first journey travelling from Southampton to Crewe. For this journey, ONE purchased GD+ fuel to cover 100% of the fuel volume required. 
 
The train then continued its journey to Freightliner Coatbridge terminal, Scotland, using an electric locomotive, making this one of the greenest rail freight routes in UK Rail.

Industrial action to impact freight movements 
 
We have received a notification from BIFA regarding the possibility of impacts to movement of freight through ports and airports as a result of planned industrial action by. 
 
Industrial action is planned to take place on the 1st February 2023 involving members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union .

Freeport East receives final Government approval 
 
Freeport East has received final Government approvals allowing it to move forward into the delivery phase. 
 
The development of the Freeport, which is expected to create up to 13,500 new jobs, will be boosted by £25 million in Government funding to support infrastructure enhancement.
