The road haulage sector is still facing rising operational costs, and transport companies have “little choice” but to pass the increase to shippers.

Even more vital goods will be transported across the UK by rail, following an ambitious target announced by Transport Secretary, Mark Harper, to grow rail freight by at least 75%.

RHA estimates that NOx from HGVs has been slashed by around 70 percent since 2013. 

 

The improvements can largely be attributed to the introduction of cleaner Euro VI trucks onto the UK’s roads in the last decade.
