Planning proposal submitted for Tilbury3 
 
Growth plans have been unveiled by the Port of Tilbury’s owners, Forth Ports, to further expand the Thames-based port and industrial complex as it submits an outline planning application to Thurrock Council to redevelop a 100-acre brownfield site located immediately adjacent to Tilbury2 (T2) to support its major markets.

Chancellor backs Lower Thames Crossing 
 
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, set out the government’s commitment to delivering the Lower Thames Crossing. 
 
She said: “We will work with a private sector to deliver the infrastructure that our country desperately needs. This includes the Lower Thames Crossing which will improve connectivity at Dover, Felixstowe and Harwich, alleviating severe congestion as goods destined to export come from the North, and the Midlands and across the country to markets overseas.

Freightliner launches new Tilbury to Manchester service 
 
Freightliner, along with several industry partners, has celebrated the launch of the new Tilbury2 to Manchester Trafford Park intermodal rail freight service. This new service, transporting containers arriving from Europe, is particularly significant as it was made possible by the Access Charge Discount scheme, recently launched by Network Rail to support the launch of new services and encourage modal shift to rail.
