DP World extends carbon inset scheme 
 
DP World has issued the first certificates from its groundbreaking Carbon Inset Programme, after more than 150,000 import containers were registered since its launch in January. 
 
The trial, which began on 1 January 2025, is the first of its kind anywhere in the world. It rewards cargo owners with 50kg CO2e of carbon credits for every loaded import container moved through DP World’s UK terminals. These credits help companies tackle Scope 3 emissions in their supply chains.

DP World reports record revenue of $20.0 billion and EBITDA of $5.5 billion 
 
DP World Limited has announced financial results for the year ended 31 December 2024. On a reported basis, revenue grew by 9.7% to $20.0 billion and adjusted EBITDA rose by 6.7% to $5.5 billion with an adjusted EBITDA margin of 27.2%.

100,000 containers now moved by rail in DP World’s Modal Shift Programme 
 
DP World has recorded the 100,000th container moved by rail from its Southampton logistics hub as part of its award-winning and carbon emission reducing Modal Shift Programme trial. 
 
The share of rail freight for onward journeys by containers arriving by sea at DP World Southampton has risen from 21% at the start of the programme to more than 30% today.

Europe’s largest cranes for DP World Southampton 
 
DP World is making a £60m investment in the UK’s trading capacity with an order of four new quay cranes for its Southampton container terminal. 
 
The new cranes will be the largest quay cranes in Europe and can perform quad lifts, moving two 40ft containers together from ship to yard in a single move, reducing the time taken to load and unload large container vessels.

DP WORLD RAISES INCENTIVE TO £100 FOR CUSTOMERS SWITCHING FREIGHT FROM ROAD TO RAIL 
 
DP World is increasing its financial incentive by almost 50 per cent for customers taking advantage of its ‘Modal Shift Programme’. The scheme was introduced in September last year and is designed to increase the attractiveness of intermodal rail for customers through carefully considered financial incentives.

DP WORLD GOES FOSSIL DIESEL FREE AT LONDON GATEWAY 
 
DP World has gone fossil free at both its UK logistics hubs with the removal of fossil diesel from its operations at London Gateway. 
 
Diesel-engine equipment and installations were switched over to run on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) at the start of January as part of London Gateway’s sustainability drive, which made significant progress last year towards electrification and the use of more carbon-efficient energy sources.
