The UK Government have announced further grants awarded to truck stops to improve toilets, showers, security, rest areas and more.
The funding is from the third year of the HGV parking and driver welfare grant scheme, which will come in addition to £8 million from industry, for a total funding boost of £12.5 million to improve truckstops.
The £100m Immingham Eastern Ro-Ro Terminal application has been granted development consent by the Secretary of State for Transport Louise Haigh.
The application comprises a new roll-on/roll-off facility comprising a new jetty with three berths, improved hard-standing, terminal buildings and an internal side bridge to cross over existing port infrastructure.

Freightliner launches new Tilbury to Manchester service
Freightliner, along with several industry partners, has celebrated the launch of the new Tilbury2 to Manchester Trafford Park intermodal rail freight service. This new service, transporting containers arriving from Europe, is particularly significant as it was made possible by the Access Charge Discount scheme, recently launched by Network Rail to support the launch of new services and encourage modal shift to rail.
